Many people crave what might be called a safe adventure. They would love to be immersed in the wild, yet at the same time know they can drive home at the end of the day. This book provides a selection of destinations in Britain where people can become immersed in the wild. All the sites will be located within a couple of hours' drive from a fairsized town or city, so they will be accessible and not completely remote. Most of the sites won't have facilities, so the idea is to take a picnic or visit an AA-recommended pub for lunch.
